Seems quickly deploying cutting-edge AI using internal teams and open-source technology seems to bear fruit. Large companies are opting to write their own AI success stories rather than being a part of the growth metrics a new AI startup needs to raise their next round.
In reality you can transition to Product Management from any role, but there are numerous factors in play. The success of the transition will heavily depend on the company culture and product needs. At Percona we noticed that technical background or willingness to learn new things are quite important for both PMs and Designers.
This article resonated with me. We are strong proponents of Empowered teams at Percona, but at the same time in the times of pressure we see teams need more than just a broad mandate.
